Aluminium is a lightweight, durable and versatile metal used worldwide across numerous sectors.

At Roba Metals, we supply aluminium sheets and coils in standard dimensions from our extensive stock, available in various alloys, each with unique properties.

Need non-standard dimensions? We can help with that too. Using our modern machinery, we produce aluminium sheets up to 12 metres long, 2 metres wide and 3 millimetres thick.

What is aluminium?

Aluminium is a light, strong and versatile metal used worldwide in countless sectors. It is derived from bauxite, after which it is converted into pure aluminium through refining and electrolysis. It is often combined with other elements, such as magnesium, silicon or manganese, to improve specific material properties.

The metal is known for its excellent corrosion resistance, good workability and favourable strength-to-weight ratio. Thanks to variants such as sheets, coils, profiles and various alloys, aluminium is suitable for a wide range of industries, from construction, transport and mechanical engineering to packaging and design. Thanks to its combination of low weight, long service life and high recyclability, aluminium is also a sustainable and future-proof material.

Applications of aluminium

Thanks to the various alloys available, aluminium has a wide range of applications, such as in:

  • Construction and architecture for flue gas extraction systems, cladding and window frames
  • Transport and mechanical engineering for vehicle bodies and structural components
  • Food industry for packaging and storage tanks
  • Decorative and functional components for cladding, signage and advertising media

Depending on the application, we are happy to assist you in selecting the right alloy and finish. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your options.

Advantages of aluminium

Aluminium combines exceptionally low weight with strong, reliable performance. It is 66% lighter than steel, making transport easier and more cost-effective, whilst the material can be easily shaped to meet the required specifications for a wide range of projects. Furthermore, aluminium is a sustainable choice: it is 100% recyclable and retains its properties during the recycling process.

With over 80 years of expertise, Roba Metals is happy to assist you in the responsible processing of your scrap metal; from buy-back to the production of high-quality semi-finished products, including variants with a minimum of 75% recycled content. Furthermore, aluminium is naturally corrosion-resistant, thanks to the protective oxide layer that forms automatically. Anodising makes this layer even stronger and available in various colours, enabling both functional and aesthetic applications.
