Prepainted steel that impresses from the very first look

At Roba Metals, we turn surprising aesthetics into materials that are as workable as they are beautiful.

We see it happen all the time: someone walks past a façade, runs a hand across the surface and says: “Is this… steel?”

And that’s the moment we know we’ve succeeded. When the print, the texture, the coating and the material come together to create something people don’t expect. Wood that isn’t wood. Marble that looks like real marble, but without the weight. And even decorative Italian “stucco”, all made from steel.

Multiple layers

And here’s the surprise: there’s no trick behind this, just solid engineering. High‑quality prepainted steel built up from multiple layers, each with its own purpose. A transparent topcoat enhances the appearance while protecting against UV and wear. Beneath it lies the printed layer – the pattern – followed by the basecoat that gives depth and nuance. A primer and chemical pretreatment ensure excellent adhesion and strong corrosion resistance.

The core material itself – steel, often with a magnesium alloy – provides strength, stability and natural fire‑retardant properties. Even the back side of the material is treated to prevent rust.

For façades, doors, panels and interiors

These technical properties make this high‑quality prepainted steel not only beautiful, but also reliable and durable. The material retains its colour, withstands all weather conditions, and is up to three times stronger than alternatives such as zinc, copper or aluminium sheet. Thanks to its excellent formability and the absence of cracking during bending, it is particularly suitable for façades, doors, panels and interior applications. And all of this comes with a warranty of up to twenty years, provided directly by the manufacturer.

It won’t surprise you that at Roba Metals we genuinely enjoy working with this material. We know the coatings, the textures, the workability and the technical limits better than anyone. In our Service Center, we slit and cut the material to exact specifications and, if needed, apply a protective film to safeguard it during processing. This way, we don’t just deliver beautiful material - we make sure it’s practical and ready for the customers who work with it. And if a customer prefers the material in coil form, that’s all fine.
